The people of India will soon take their turn in getting a taste of Motorola’s latest budget-friendly Android phone — the Motorola Moto G — some time this coming February.
Motorola Mobility announced through social media that the company will be divulging on February 5 the details of the upcoming launch of the Moto G in India. No specific date was noted in the announcement.
The company first released the Moto G in other global markets in November last year for a relatively friendly, off-contract price range of US$ 180.00 to US$ 200.00, which helped buoy up its popularity in international markets where it was released.
Critics and reviewers have acclaimed the cheap Android phone by Motorola for having struck a good balance between price and hardware and features. Many users also report improved performance of the Motorola Android phone with the arrival of the Android 4.4 KitKat update.
Tech enthusiasts and Android fans in India have expressed their excitement over the upcoming launch of the Moto G in their country. Many are hoping that the price will remain tempting, attractive, and competitive, especially since Samsung is expected to announce in late February the newest member of the Galaxy S series, the Samsung Galaxy S5.
There’s no telling whether or not Motorola will alter the specs of the Android phone when it hits India. In case the Motorola Moto G retains the same specs as the global release, it will have a quad-core 1.2-GHz Snapdragon 400 MSM8X26 CPU, 1.0 gigabyte of RAM, 4.5-inch High Definition (1280×720) LCD screen, up to 16 GB of internal storage, 2,070-mAh Li-ion battery, 5-megapixel camera, and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (upgradable to Android 4.4 KitKat).
