It is completely absurd to complain, or even to report, that the Samsung GALAXY Nexus release date for Verizon Wireless has been delayed or derailed simply because the U.S. carrier made no official claims on when the device will actually be coming out. New information sources, however, are claiming a new release date: December 15.
According to an anecdotal report on GottaBeMobile, a Verizon employee confirmed that the GALAXY Nexus would be ready for purchase next week on December 15. Other reports online also claimed that Verizon employees have been mentioning the December 15 release date when potential customers called up or dropped in at Verizon stores to inquire about when the GALAXY Nexus is finally arriving.
Verizon Wireless is expected to have an exclusive lock for releasing the newly launched Samsung GALAXY Nexus, but the U.S. carrier has not provided anyone any official word about when the release date for the device will be. Recent leaks and rumors from reliable sources have pinpointed to December 8 as the most likely release date for the Samsung GALAXY Nexus, but December 8 has come and gone–yet, still no dice. The GALAXY Nexus was reportedly coming out together with the Motorola DROID 4.
Countless U.S. customers are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Samsung GALAXY Nexus because of its biggest and greatest feature: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, said to be the unitive version of Android that could potentially lessen the fragmentation in the opensource operating system.
The GALAXY Nexus itself carries powerful hardware specs, including a 4.65-inch touchscreen display that uses Samsung’s HD Super AMOLED technology, a 5-megapixel primary camera powered by a Camera app that Google claims to have zero shutter lag, 32 GB of internal storage, Near Field Communication (NFC) technology leveraged by Android Beam for instantaneous data transfers between two NFC-enabled devices, 1.0 GB of RAM, and a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor. The Verizon variant of the GALAXY Nexus is expected to have 4G LTE connectivity, too.
Samsung recently showcased preview demo units of the GALAXY Nexus at its Samsung Experience store in New York City, which made a lot of people believe that it won’t be long before the device hits store shelves nationwide.
